Cookery

Group Leader: New leader is required but in order to give group a boost to a fresh start in their new environment, the Fallas Institut Casal, Karmanie Hastings,Groups Co-ordinator is prepared to tackle a few cooking sessions just for fun.

What Karmanie has to say about her cooking

"I love travelling and sampling the cooking of the places I visit. I also enjoy trying to recreate the experiences I have had so that I can share the fun with my friends.  I am not an expert cullinary wizard or sophisticated chef but if you would like to explore some of the basic, earthy aspects of Mediterranean cooking then please join me on the first Wednesday of every month."

Our first cullinary adventure looked at Moroccan Cooking.

We created a menu

of a Mezze Combination of

Courgette and Mint Salad, Orange and Carrot Salad and Tomato, Cucumber and  Fresh Coriander Salad

Main Course was Lemon and Coriander Chicken served with Jewelled Rice which is a crusty caramelised basmati rice  layered with a variety of dried fruits and nuts.

To finish there were Dates in Cardamom Coffee, Chocolate Surprises and Coconut Truffles.

The next meeting will be on Wednesday 7th April in the venue outlined below.
