Meetings: We now meet every TUESDAYS at 19.45 till 21.45 at the bar "Charro" DOWNSTAIRS AT THE FAR END CORNER OF THE BAR..

WHO WE ARE

We are a group of like-minded people who meet weekly to share our appreciation of live acoustic music. All are welcome to come and join us. Although we are a folk club, we do not restrict ourselves to purely traditional or contemporary folk music. Blues. Country. Music hall and even 60s pop maybe heard. Indeed any acoustic music.

What happens on club nights ?

SING AROUND/SESSION NIGHT: These are informal evenings where anyone may sing a song, play a tune or tell a story from their seat. In fact Anything Goes ! Songs or tunes where others can join in often make a lively evening !BLUES, JAZZ, ROCK, PURE FOLK WHATEVER

OPEN STAGE "COME ALL YE " : these are evenings when performers deliver a short set of two or three songs from the stage area ( if none , then just standing up in front of the audience ). You will be amazed at how much confidence that will give you.

A SPOTLIGHT ON ....: this is a singaround/session night with a spotlight on one of our club members or regulars who will do an extended set of about 20 minutes.

LAST NIGHT 24.2.010 WE ALL WENT TO " THE BULL AND BEAR " IN BENITATCHELL AND JOINED THE "JAVEA NON FOLK CLUB " THEY HAVE ABOUT 30/40 MEMBERS WE HAD A SMASHING EVENING . THEY MEET ONCE A MONTH AND WE INTEND TO GO TO THEIR SESSIONS. SOME OF THEM HAVE ALREADY VISITED US AT THE CHARRO AND WE HOPE THAT THIS EXCHANGE WILL CONTINUE TO ADD STRENGTH AND VARIETY TO OUR CLUB.
